Yoga for Runners with Leisha Davis
Sunday, May 16, 2010, 12:30 – 2:45pm
8 Limbs Phinney Ridge
Whether you’re a recreational athlete or training for a professional event, join us to experience how yoga can work wonders to strengthen, open and protect your body while inviting a deep sense of calm into the ever-active mind. We will explore the inherently tight areas of the athlete’s body, such as the hips, thighs, and low back, also bringing attention to the under-utilized parts including the core, shoulders and arms. In these workshops, part of our Yoga for Athletes Series, you’ll receive many helpful ideas to integrate into your cycling or running routines, and you’ll leave with greater flexibility through your body, mind and spirit. All levels welcome.
Leisha Davis
Growing up as a runner, Leisha was always searching for a better way to keep her body flexible, strong and safe from injuries. While training for a marathon in 1999, Leisha finally found her solution and passion in yoga. She looks forward to sharing what she’s learned with others!
Paul Millage
As a runner, cyclist, and mountaineer, Paul relates well to tight hips and hamstrings and is compassionately striving to dispel the myth of “I’m not flexible enough for yoga.” He views yoga as a holistic and tried tool that can empower anyone on a journey of self-discovery, where the prerequisites are based in attitude and intention—not flexibility.
