| Mindful Yoga Stress Management
with Chris Prenovitz
Saturday, March 20, 2010
1–4pm
8 Limbs Wedgwood
Discover simple mind-body practices to deepen your natural state of relaxed awareness. Connect with the body as the container of life, experience and awareness. The body is always in the present. The mind however moves from past to future and rarely is present to this moment’s experience. You will cultivate and ground your attention in the body and explore the underlying unity of awareness.
We will explore how mindfulness of the body is the ground for understanding and working with the ever-changing movement and conditions of life. Both the stress and relaxation responses within the body and mind will be discussed and we will practice various ways to deepen mindfulness and strengthen the relaxation response. These include gentle yoga poses and breathing practices, mindful walking, and body centered relaxation and awareness practices that ground and support the unfolding of the dharma of life.
*** This class is accessible and adaptable to everyone. Instruction will be given for people who prefer to do the class in a chair.
Cost: $50/class advance, $55 within 5 days of workshop.
Cancellation Policy: Refunds of 90% up to five days prior to workshop. No refunds after that time.
