Think you have to be young, healthy, fit and flexible to practice yoga? Think again. If you have yearned to try yoga but have been discouraged because you think you are too old, your body type is wrong, you are suffering from chronic health issues, or are working with an injury, this class was designed with you in mind. Maybe you practiced yoga years ago, took a break, and now would love to get back into it. This series is the place to refresh your body and your mind. Taught in a light-hearted and very accessible way, Sally’s six-class series will introduce those over 50 to the basics of the physical practice of yoga, asana, as well as breathing practices, pranayama, and meditation.

If you have health concerns about practicing yoga because of health or physical problems, please feel free to email Sally at sallycarley@comcast.net to discuss your concerns.

Cost: $80 for six class series or $16 per class

Cancellation Policy: Refunds of 90% up to five days prior to workshop. No refunds after that time.

Sally Carley
began practicing yoga in her mid-40’s, and credits yoga for her ability to embrace aging, as well as for the strength and flexibility to face mid-life with grace and ease. Sally is a graduate of the 8 Limbs Yoga Teacher Training and Advanced Teacher Training in 2003, and also completed the Samarya Center Yoga Teacher Training in 2007.  Her light-hearted teaching style and her understanding of anatomy, physiology and the healing benefits of yoga, combine to make her classes really fun, very safe, and a gateway to all that yoga has to offer.

Matt Nadler
has been practicing yoga irregularly since the 1970's and found it to be a perfect vehicle for impacting his health. In 2005 he became a certified yoga teacher in the Viniyoga lineage as he saw it would be best for older practitioners. It has a relaxed approach to the placement of the body and puts a great deal of emphasis on the breath. Rather than focus exclusively on his own age group, he expanded his yoga training to include Level One Teacher Training with Baron Baptiste and numerous workshops with masters in other styles of yoga. From these varied types of yoga he teaches a rather eclectic style.
